BREAK

The break is that moment when, during a solo, the rhythm section momentarily stops the accompaniment, leaving the soloist to continue alone. During these particular moments, the musician must incorporate within himself the music from the rhythm section as if it is still playing; the listener, too, is doing the same thing. Basically, this is the creation of mental music. Break tells about the process of musical research and imagination that the Separatisti Bassi employ during rehearsals for concerts. This story is made up of a series of close-ups and extreme close-ups, research into the energy and emotion that can be seen in expressions and gestures, to be freed in the final performance.
